Club Mild confronts past mistakes and regretson new single “Sun Gazer”
Previously known as M1LDL1FE, the Singaporean alt-pop trio embraces the next chapter of their music career with a balance of rhythm and introspection

Manila, Philippines — Singapore-based indie pop trio Club Mild confronts impermanence with regret and meaninglessness on their latest single, “Sun Gazer.” Weaving a tapestry of introspection that resonates on multiple levels, the indie pop anthem combines vivid lyrical metaphors with funk guitars and pulsating electronic beats—a musical ode to facing mortality, embracing meaninglessness, and the overwhelming power of being the author of your own life.
According to David Siow, the band bassist, “Sun Gazer” was inspired by the feeling of being wracked with regrets that you end up “going around in circles” and “contemplating about bad life choices.”
Siow adds, “At the same time, you worry about making the same mistakes in the future. This back and forth between past regrets and fear of the future overwhelms you. It’s like staring at the sun, thinking you’ll find safety if you can find the edges. You end up in this hollow state of “not living”. Yeah, it’s about that, but with dancing.”
With a chorus that beckons, "I wanna go back and undo the things I’ve done," the song captures the sentiment of being paralyzed by the weight of past mistakes. But amidst this introspection lies a spark of hope, a yearning to transcend the confines of regret and find forgiveness within.
The song is written and performed by Club Mild, and produced by Malcolm Besley, a record producer, songwriter, and mix engineer who is also the drummer of Northeast Party House, a Melbourne-based electronic indie band.
“We’ve always been fans of this band called Northeast Party House; we even covered one of their songs once,” shares Siow. “So when Paddy found out that their drummer, Malcolm Besley, was their main producer, we reached out, did the Zoom calls, and got to work. Malcolm is brilliant; he managed to make all of the elements of Sun Gazer really slap!”
Formerly known as M1LDL1FE, the eclectic Singaporean band has performed in the Philippines twice, sharing co-headliner billing with Deafheaven and Delta Sleep on 2018’s All Of The Noise and performing as one of the guest international acts at last year’s GNN Year End Show in 123 Block.

“An album packed full of gleaming choruses, gold-plated melodies and Kylie’s uncanny ability to make love and loss shimmer with possibilities." 8/10 - Crack
“An album that’s light years ahead of the competition.” ***** - Classic Pop

Kylie’s highly-anticipated new album, 'Tension’ – a record full of euphoric, empowered dance floor bangers and sultry pop cuts – is out now via BMG.
The critically-acclaimed record includes the global smash hit singles ‘Padam Padam’ and the title track ‘Tension’. Released in May, ‘Padam Padam’ quickly cemented its status as a global viral sensation and song of the summer with 157 million global streams, four weeks in the UK Top 10, Number 1 in the UK airplay chart, remixes by HAAi, Jax Jones and Absolute, and even calls for ‘Padam’ to be added to the dictionary. ‘Tension’ debuted in the UK Top 20 and Number 7 in the UK airplay chart in its first week of release, with TikTok users across the world similarly embracing the track. Listen to the album ‘Tension’ in full here.
Discussing ‘Tension’, Kylie says: “I started this album with an open mind and a blank page. Unlike my last two albums there wasn’t a ‘theme’, it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song. I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.”
To celebrate the release of the album, Kylie opened a special pop-up shop in London stocked full of exclusive merchandise and products curated personally by Kylie – making it a must-do experience for all Kylie fans, collectors and music lovers. The special store, which is housed in one of the British capital’s most iconic locations at 55 Regent Street, was open to fans from Friday September 22 to Sunday September 24 from 10am-6pm each day.
Last Friday, the British Fashion Council hosted the opening night of London Fashion Week served by Diet Coke, with an exclusive preview party for Kylie’s brand-new album. Kylie led the crowd at Lío London in a mass “Kylie-oke” singalong to her recent hit singles, with the weekend celebrations continuing in Leicester on Sunday where Kylie triumphantly headlined the BBC’s Radio 2 in the Park event.
From November, Kylie will kick off her first ever run of headline shows in Las Vegas at Voltaire - The Venetian Resort Las Vegas’ new nightlife sensation. Blurring the lines between an intimate club, concert, and non-stop entertainment venue, Voltaire will usher in a new destination nightlife scene with Kylie at the forefront in an exclusive US residency. The venue’s opening on November 3 kicks off the Australian pop icon’s first Vegas Residency where she will perform tracks from her new album alongside many of her greatest hits.
2023 has already seen Kylie perform on American Idol and play a surprise set at Capital’s Summertime Ball. Next week she will perform a one-off show at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, and later this year will see Kylie host ITV’s An Audience With show at the Royal Albert Hall to be broadcast in December.

And we just want to make them realize that the online group isn't just a Facebook group; it's a real, thriving community that helps Filipinos improve their homes.”
The one-day event will take place at the activity center of the Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Pasay City on October 1, 2023. BALMING TIGER SHARE NEW SINGLE "KAMEHAMEHA"
ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM
'JANUARY NEVER DIES' FEAT. RM OF BTS,
OUT 19 OCTOBER
"They are a group that produces one of the most original music and visuals in Korea, truly genuine and talented artists....While working together, I definitely learned a lot from their distinct colors.”

SET TO PERFORM AT 🇹🇭 MAHO RASOP FESTIVAL 2023 IN BANGKOK
"Balming Tiger is turning K-Pop upside down"
– VOGUE
"Balming Tiger aren’t just fixated on reimagining the typical sonics and aesthetics of K-pop but popularising Asian youth culture worldwide, and that mission has already proven fruitful."
– NME
"their work is strikingly original and unexpected — it takes you by surprise, and they approach every project with a new sound and an undyingly positive attitude."
"At their high-energy live shows, you're as likely to find yourself in the middle of a mosh pit as you are to body roll."
Seoul-based collective Balming Tiger have released their new single “Kamehameha” and announced their debut album “January Never Dies”, scheduled for release on 19th October.
A diverse music collective taking their name from the famous Asian ointment 'Tiger Balm', Balming Tiger describes themselves as a "multinational alternative K-pop band" with a desire to create an impact globally and carve a uniquely captivating lane for K-pop. The main creative vision of Balming Tiger is to reflect and represent the younger generation of today’s society, aiming to further popularise today’s hyper-expressive Asian youth culture throughout the world, whilst drawing inspiration from a wider spectrum of global influences.
Bouncy and playful, “Kamehameha”s experimental soundscape pays homage to the Korean drinking game of the same name, simulating the light-headed, overconfident experience of being heavily intoxicated. The track is produced by bj wjwn and features vocals and melodies by sogumm. The track’s stripped-back composition varies from previous singles, providing another stylishly diverse addition to the collective’s expansive discography. The AI-inspired single artwork and surreal, cinematic music video were created by Balming Tiger’s visual artist Chanhee Hong.
Balming Tiger – "Kamehameha" (Official Video)
This is the fourth single to be unveiled from their forthcoming album, following the widescreen “SOS” in April, the radiant “Trust Yourself” in January and “SEXY NUKIM” in September of 2022 featuring RM of legendary K-pop band BTS, which achieved record-breaking results including reaching #1 on Billboard’s ‘World Digital Song Sales’ chart. The music video for “SEXY NUKIM (feat. RM of BTS)” has surpassed 16 million views.
Balming Tiger consists of performers Omega Sapien, sogumm, bj wnjn, and Mudd the student (who recently appeared on South Korea’s most popular music TV show SMTM, garnering millions of views), producers San Yawn and Unsinkable, video directors Jan' Qui and Leesuho, DJ Abyss, visual artist ChanheeHong, and writer Henson Hwang. Each artist in this ensemble expresses a different artistic identity and energy, as well as a wide range of versatility in crafting the group's distinct visual world.
Founding member and K-pop and K-rap sensation Omega Sapien released his solo EP “WUGA” via LuckyMe last year, featuring incendiary collaborations with GRAMMY-nominated producer Baauer, NUXXE label head Sega Bodega and Vernon of K-pop collective SEVENTEEN. “WUGA” followed the release of Omega’s 'Garlic and the Mugwort: The Genesis', a remix album which consisted of tracks from his debut album, 'Garlic'. The Korean polymath enlisted a slew of producers and collaborators to once again push the boundaries of alternative music, resulting in a bubbling amalgam of digital hardcore, hyper-pop, alt-rap and electronica.
At the iconic annual SXSW Festival in Austin earlier this year, they co-presented, curated and headlined 'Tiger Den', SXSW's first-ever all-Asian lineup which included artists like Shye (Singapore), Tohji (Japan), LØREN (S. Korea), Lunadira(Malaysia) and more.
This year, Balming Tiger will cap off their world tour in Bangkok, Thailand, at Maho Rasop Festival on 2 December.
"Kamehameha" is the latest piece in the puzzle to be revealed from their highly anticipated debut album, stay tuned for more.

Listen and watch "buttons!" HERE.
‘buttons!’ is a master display of tension and restrain with builds, drops and chops, the wobbly sax samples token with Dillon’s sound. Fusing together the eclectism of both artists, Knock2 shares, “When I saw Dillon followed me on Instagram it was surreal because he was one artist I had always looked up to. I admired how fun and creative his music was and it all matched his personality so well. I sent him a demo back in December and he ended up loving it, which is how the collaboration started. We got in the studio and he wrote the second drop which really completed the song. Buttons is a light hearted, fun track that represents both of our styles and weirdness.”
Of their collaboration, Dillon Francis also reveals “Knock2 and I can tell you the same story as the other guy in this picture is a little bit of the guy in that photo that I was in a car with a guy who was in a truck with his wife in the back and I had to go to the store and he was in a car that I had a lot more than I could get out of it because he was in a lot of pain so I was in the car….so there you have it. Go listen to the song.”
Knock2 has been captivating the dance music scene ever since the 2021 release of the near-universal bass-house anthem "dashstar*" - a festival banger that has tracked over 35 million Spotify streams and garnered support from DJs like Tiesto, DJ Snake, Joyryde, and many more. P-Pop girl group YARA reimagines Sexbomb Girls’ “Bakit Papa?” with a contemporary R&B makeover
YARA’s version of the novelty hit is produced by Thyro Alfaro, the award-winning composer behind some of the biggest OPM hits
P-Pop powerhouse YARA reimagines the glory era of Y2K music with a modern update on Sexbomb Girls’ signature hit, “Bakit Papa?”—out today via Sony Music Entertainment.
Paying tribute to the novelty classic that ushered in a new wave of all-women, sing-and-dance pop groups, YARA gave the song its smooth makeover with a synth flavor on top.
“This version of ‘Bakit Papa?’ is more R&B-leaning,” shares the four-member girl group. “It has a sensual feel, matched with sultry choreography.”
YARA’s contemporary spin on “Bakit Papa?” is co-produced by reliable hitmaker Thyro Alfaro, who is responsible for some of the most memorable chart-toppers of the last decade, including hits from Sarah Geronimo, James Reid, and Sam Concepcion. Alfaro worked with John Paul Soliva on the arrangement and Niño of Popinoyon the production side, while taking into consideration the artistic direction that YARA wanted to achieve for this particular track.
The result is an R&B bop that is just as captivating and exciting as the original but distinctly aligns with the Filipino girl group’s brand of sass.
YARA takes pride in being more involved when it comes to the creative aspects of music-making. In “Bakit Papa,” they worked closely with Sony Music Entertainment to bring their vision into reality.
“From styling to choreography, from coming up with promotional strategies to executing the material, we collaborated with our label to ensure that we get the best results possible,” says the ADDA artist.
The release of “Bakit Papa?” comes with a performance video that highlights the unapologetic fierceness of the song. The visuals also feature a choreography that adds a sensual dimension to the mix while delivering fun and nostalgia at the same time.
YARA is a four-piece girl group composed of Gelou, Rocher, Christa, and Kim. They’re one of the newest P-Pop acts under Sony Music Entertainment, which includes SB19, 4th Impact, and more among its top-prized talents.
YARA’s “Bakit Papa?” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment. Watch out for the performance video soon.

Filipino singer-songwriters raven and Angela Ken teams up on “Pangako,” a song about life-long commitment and everlasting love
The song is co-produced by acclaimed young artists Tim Marquez and Zild, and written by raven himself
Angela Ken and raven, two of the most promising singer-songwriters in the country, have recently linked up on a new song that expresses the joy of feeling secure about one’s relationship and wanting to make life-long plans with the person you love.
Aptly titled “Pangako,” the soaring ballad finds the two Filipino artists exchanging vows of commitment with earnestness that speaks to an entire generation of listeners—young or old, and everything in between.
“It’s about being ready to love that special someone for a lifetime,” raven explains. According to the young bedroom pop act, the song was made for two committed individuals who are both on the same page, celebrating one another and having each other’s backs even in times of frailty.
“I was inspired specifically by my Tito’s wedding when I wrote it,” he shares. “It’s my dream to make a song that goes well with an SDE video: a soundtrack that complements a couple’s montage, all while bringing the sugary feels in one go.”
The original version of “Pangako” was produced by raven with the assistance of his mentor, Rico Blanco. Acclaimed artists and producers Zild and Tim Marquez came into the picture for the duet version and added layers of newness and intricacy to the production. The result is a heartwarming ballad that brims with intricate harmonies and gorgeous instrumentation, painting a picture of romantic bliss, the youthful kind.
“it’s not the typical arrangement that you would normally hear in my songs,” Angela reflects. “And I guess that’s where the magic appears: the intricate details that the producers incorporate in the song and the way they preserved the inherent simplicity of what made it stand out, on a lyrical and emotional level. This collaboration is really for the books.”
Both raven and Angela Ken have gained significant attention at the height of the pandemic, sparking the curiosity of casual music fans with their brand of relatable songwriting and pop-infused melodies. Angela rose to prominence with 2021’s “Ako Naman Muna,” which racked up more than 40 million streams on Spotify alone, while raven’s steady rise in the music industry and incredible musical instincts captured the attention of Rico Blanco, which resulted in bagging a management deal with Balcony Entertainment and a record deal with Sony Music Entertainment.
raven and Angela Ken’s “Pangako” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.
