Cathay Pacific in partnership with the Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT), recently hosted a business tourism networking event at The Peninsula Manila and Radisson Blu in Cebu for corporate guests, Cathay Pacific Members and select travel agency partners.
The event called Israel Ministry of Tourism and Cathay Pacific Connect, focused on exploring the different facets of Israel as a destination for both business and leisure travellers. Special guest of honour was His Excellency Ilan Fluss, Ambassador of Israel to the Philippines. He shared fascinating insights on his country including some interesting historical background on the close ties between Israel and the Philippines. “I am aware that the Holy land is in the bucket list of Filipinos. But in addition to the traditional pilgrimage, I recommend that you also explore the modern side of Israel, especially our innovation and technology.’ Israeli Ambassador said.
Mr. Sammy Yahia, IMOT’s Director of Tourism for India and the Philippines, gave a presentation on the diverse and unique places, experiences, and activities that one can expect in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and other cities in Israel. “Israel is a diverse country, wherein you can experience both desert and snow at the same time. Filipinos has a gift of visa free to Israel. So, we look forward in welcoming you in Israel”.
Cathay Pacific in turn, shared a brief update on flight schedules from Manila & Cebu, good connections to worldwide destinations as well as recent developments in their Cathay membership programme. “We are pleased that we were able to bring together our corporate guests and agency experts through this event. And as the name Cathay Pacific Connect suggests, our aim was to connect our partners and give them the opportunity to discuss travel prospects to Israel, as Tel Aviv is one of our key destinations,” said Cathay Pacific Head of Sales Chinkee Bayaborda.
