First time author Lanzi Borromeo has carved out his niche in the corporate public speaking industry, which has proven to be a lucrative business. His direct style of communication has been an asset to his clients across a diverse range of industries, and this is also evident in his maiden publication Made You Look: Short Shorts. He goes directly to the message of his points, and he does not waste unnecessary time to convey the important lessons that he would like to impart. I am pleased with his style, because it also reflects my own. As an author myself, I make it a point to write short but meaty books which can educate and inspire at the same time. I am happy to say that Mr. Borromeo has succeeded in imparting wonderful lessons in short statements and phrases.
I must admit that my first impression was that this book was a collection of poems. However, as I began to read the book, I realized that this is a collection of valuable lessons imparted by the author to create an impact. His target audience seems to be millennials and Gen Z readers with short attention spans. He has succeeded in making this millennial reader and writer think deeply about my choices in life and my ability to wonder in this day and age. His writing does not overdramatize and he does not exaggerate. He simply writes what he knows, and it is evidently from the heart.
It is dedicated to his wife, and it is easy to see why. I know that being a writer can be challenging, especially when you have to write to the ones you love. I think that Mr. Borromeo has written a love letter to his wife, which has evolved into a full-length book for the world at large. And we are fortunate to have this book in our midst, because it has the power to make us look again at the values which we tend to forget when we lose sight of what is most important in life.
Made You Look by Lanzi Borromeo is now available at the Central Books website.
