I was invited to dine at Abbiocco, a new restaurant at the scout area for lunch. I was intrigued by its concept of serving “alternative Filipino” food, so I went there with an open mind and a zest for new flavors!
The clean and fresh interiors welcomed me as I walked into the restaurant. I could tell that the owners care about the light and airy feel of the place, and it is a breath of fresh air from the traditional Filipino restaurants that I am used to. I immediately felt that this was something new.
Their beverage and food menus reflect an adventurous take on Filipino cuisine, where homegrown flavors are served with a twist.
I brought our helper Racquel with me to enjoy the sumptuous lunch. We started our meal with drinks: four seasons for Racquel and a margarita for me.
Filipino food with cocktails? About time, I must say!
Our appetizer was the grilled chicken and salad wrap. It was a interesting to taste native chicken in grilled form, and to savor it with crisp vegetables, chips, and fries. It was a yummy start to a lovely meal.
I was in the mood for a healthful meal, so for our mains, we shared George’s oven-baked chicken parmesan and Abbiocco’s house pizza.
The chicken parmesan was a cheesy dream come true. It was baked to perfection and served with the best pesto pasta I’ve ever tried.
Meanwhile, the pizza was a classy take on traditional 3M Pinoy pizza pie. The fresh ingredients took center stage, which made this pizza a refined meal that’s perfect for sharing. The sweet sauce was not overpowering, and it can still be enjoyed by pizza fans who prefer it Italian style. It’s a must-try!
I got to see Abbiocco’s meeting room, which can fit eight to ten people. It is perfect for meetings and small gatherings.
While the restaurant’s interiors are modern and its menu offers alternative Filipino flavors for consumers with a global mindset, it is still cozy. I can see this being a destination for families, officemates, friends, and even a hot date.
To cap off my meal, I ordered a crisp and clean martini and some leche flan to share.
I totally dig the rad interiors, and I even got to crochet while waiting for our food and drinks.
I can say that Abbiocco is a restaurant that I can recommend because everything we ordered was to die for. I am not into Filipino food when dining out, but I liked their concept of incorporating Filipino flavors into my favorite dishes, which are pasta and pizza. Oh, and their cocktails go well with their food. Do visit them now!
Abbiocco invited me to try their food, and it was on the house. My review is unbiased though, and I really enjoyed my meal!
