Remembering My Why in High School

I found this Programme for one of our school events during our senior year in high school. I graduated from Holy Family School of Quezon City in 2004. Artifacts like this remind me of my humble beginnings and my lifelong love for public speaking and writing, since I also wrote the script for my hosting gig. It always pays to look back and appreciate where it all began. 🖤

Friendship on Target

Yesterday, I was able to spend time with my high school friends. We held our annual Christmas gathering on Bonifacio Day because it was the only time that most of us were free.

I got ready by wearing bright red lipstick.

Our first stop was Arrowland, an archery range inside the mall. Here I am with Kai after she gave me her Christmas gift.

And here’s all of us before our fun archery time.

Then, we had snacks at Vampire Penguin, where I had this cheese and hotdog puff.

I also had a cuppa to go with my waffle.

We got to exchange gifts while eating merienda.

We had more food afterwards, such as Cookies by the Bucket...

We ended the night by visiting Luti’s condo nearby and a group chat with those who weren’t able to physically join us.

These friends have become my family through the years. I am grateful that we all meet annually, and that we still keep in touch. I hope to have more memories with these girls in the years to come!

Pressed Coffee Life

The past few days have been challenging for me, as I have been dealing with some personal matters. Good thing, I have friends who are here to hold my hand through every challenge.

One of them is Karel, who is my high school friend! We had brunch at my usual Breakfast Bin, where we both had toasted naked longganisa.

We continued catching-up at Papa Diddi’s for some ice cream and coffee.

I had purple love (ube) and jackfruit ice cream...

...and of course, Sagada pressed coffee!

Life gives us challenges so that we could think out of the box. Friends like Karel are simply there to help us laughs through the pain. Laughter helps, because it keeps us grounded and hopeful for better days to come. Delicious food will always be therapeutic. And just like my life right now, pressed coffee is amazing because of the pressure applied to bring out its flavor.

I’d like to think that my life is simply brewing a more flavorful future for me, and that an awakening is just around the corner.

All I have to do is to trust the process, and do my best.
