Celebrating 15 years of being a @worldvisionphl child sponsor with a self-development webinar! I started being a child sponsor when I was still in college, and I never looked back! Heroes For Children 2021

I joined @unicefphilsā€™ #heroesforchildren2021 because I wanted to stay fit and healthy while a) releasing my first book and b) helping children in need! I enjoyed this challenge and I am grateful to have finished the race šŸ’™ #fitspo @runrio_inc

I Donated My Hair!

I recently donated my hair! This was my first haircut in more than two years, so it was a momentous occasion for me.

I had my haircut at Heads by Volu-med Salon, as they offer a discounted cut and style package for those who want to donate their hair to cancer patients. Best of all, the shoulder the shipping fee of the hair donation to Hair for Hope Philippines.

This is my second time to donate my hair to cancer patients. I feel so empowered to have the ability to help them in my own little way.

Please visit Hair for Hope to also donate your hair! God bless you!

Dance for Hope and A Cure

Yesterday, I joined a dance party for a friendā€™s fundraiser. She is undergoing chemotherapy, so a common friend organized a Zumba party via Zoom. In keeping with the times, we kept on dancing to some retro beats online. Our socially distant party was a lot of fun and I really burned some calories while at home.

While I miss dancing outdoors at our local park, I understand that the pandemic is still upon us and it is best to just workout at home. I am glad that there are online options to stay fit and active! I hope that this inspires you to also exercise while on quarantine.

World Vision Virtual Community Visit

Last June 4, we had a Virtual Community Visit to Baseco, Manila with World Vision Philippines. As a World Vision sponsor for the past fourteen years, I appreciated the online tour around Baseco. I felt blessed to be a part of this organization that champions childrenā€™s education and community development.

It was heartwarming to know that the childrenā€™s education has been uninterrupted during the pandemic, and that the livelihood training for their family members has been continuously thriving. One example was the tailoring shop where Baseco mothers found steady income and employment. Aside from that, World Vision also provided values training, financial literacy, and food assistance.

I look forward to more years of being a World Vision Child Sponsor! To also become a child sponsor, visit the World Vision website to learn more. And to help support World Visionā€™s blended learning initiatives during the pandemic, please donate via their Shopee page!

Thank you and God bless us all!

Octopals!

I have been volunteering as a crocheter since the lockdown was imposed last March 2020. The corona virus has cancelled all my events and outside work, so I dedicated my energy and skills to donating earsavers to medical frontliners via Earsavers for Lifesavers PH. Since the project has already attracted numerous volunteer crocheters across the Philippines, I have joined another charity called Bayaniyarn. They donate crocheted and knitted beanies and octopus amigurumi dolls to premature babies at government hospital NICUs across the country. So far, I have already finished a box of Monaco mercerized cotton and crocheted 22 octopals for preemies.

I am enjoying this new project so far, and I have also crocheted a few beanies already. I hope to turn these over to Bayaniyarn in time for Christmas.

Please also consider volunteering for Bayaniyarn if you know how to knit or crochet! It will make your heart fuller and your quarantine more meaningful.
