Bow Tie Top

I just crocheted this beautiful Bow Tie Top! I followed this tutorial by Filipina crochet designer Purple Haze Crochet. I used milk cotton yarn from Oh My Yarn!, and I worked with a 5.00mm hook.

This project is fun to make as you can easily watch a movie while crocheting. The tutorial was also clearly taught, so finishing it is a breeze.

I hope that you can also try this project out!

Calico Flowers Scarf

I just finished crocheting the Calico Flowers Scarf. I followed this free pattern from Yarnspirations. I used a 6mm hook and rainbow cotton yarn from Shopee.

The pattern is intermediate-level, but I think it can be doable even for advanced crocheters. Just be sure to count stitches and ensure that the gauge is followed.

I hope that this inspires you to make something during this pandemic. Creating beautiful things is uplifting and fulfilling. Do give it a try!

Father’s Day Gift

I crocheted this velvet bag for my single mom. I believe that Father’s Day should also be dedicated for moms who are raising children on their own. This gift is my simple token for my mom who became a single mother when my father passed away in 2019.

I crocheted this bag using velvet yarn from Shopee and a 5.00 hook. I followed this tutorial on YouTube, and modified it by making 45 rows for the body instead of the prescribed 25 rows.

How are you guys celebrating Father’s Day? Do you also crochet gifts for your parents? I hope that however you honor your parents on their special days, you do so with love and care.

Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

Ceres Top

I just finished crocheting the Ceres Top by Filipina crochet designer Mgypsy. I used scrap yarns from the earsavers I crocheted for medical frontliners last year. I worked with a 4.00mm crochet hook.

I really enjoyed working on this pattern because the instructions were clear and the accompanying photos were informative. I wish nothing but success for this pattern’s talented designer.

I hope that you will also find a hobby that will bring you joy during the pandemic and beyond!

Sienna Bralette

I just finished this crocheting this Sienna Bralette. The pattern was designed by Monique Salibio a.k.a. @purls_ph and I used indophil yarn from Shopee. I modified the pattern by adding rows, thus turning the bralette into a crop top. I also used a 4.00mm hook instead of the prescribed 3.00mm hook.

I would recommend this pattern if you enjoy the alpine stitch. It is also pretty easy to accomplish, and it can be crocheted while watching Netflix.

Enjoy crocheting!

Clam Top

I just finished crocheting this Clam Top. I followed the video tutorial by local crochet designer Yarns and Fins. I purchased the gradient yarn from Clover’s Crochet PH. For the top itself, I used a 3.00mm hook. It took me a week to finish this project.

Finishing crochet pattern boosts my confidence and enhances my mood. It helps keep me focused as my crochet time is an opportunity for me to stay away from gadgets. Having a hobby such as crochet is healthy and fulfilling, and I highly recommend it.

Do give it a try by buying a hook, a yarn, and tuning in to a tutorial online! Good luck!

Lacey Scarf

I recently finished crocheting this lacey scarf. I followed the Crochet Easy Shawl pattern by GG Crochet. I used fine cotton yarn by Miss Crochet a Lot, and a 4.5mm hook.

This was a therapeutic project over the second Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) period. Having a rise in the Covid-19 patients in my country has been a source of anxiety, so this project helped me stay calm and on track. It also inspired me to stay focused as the pattern is only a two-row repeat.

This simple yet beautiful pattern inspired me to do more during this difficult period. I joined webinars again to educate myself, and it reminded me of how much I love learning. It has also cleared my mind from the difficult news stories at the moment. I focused on the hypnotic pattern, and it kept me going until I finished the scarf.

If you are also feeling down at times, find fulfillment in the hobbies that keep you sane. Focus on what you can do and don’t feel discouraged by factors beyond your control. If you also crochet, just keep on hooking!

Let us all create a better present by being present. God bless us all!
