Drive Media Kickoff Training

Seeing 2020: The Drive Media Kickoff Training

Training

by Sam Lucas

January 2, 2020

Drive Media had their initial kickoff training at the UP Enterprise Center last January 2. It was a lively morning for learning and sharpening the saw. Keats Ronquillo, Drive Manila’s Site Lead for Bohol and Drive Media, trained me and Gene Rose Imphang on the basics of blogging, photography, and vlogging.

We reviewed the basics of journalistic feature writing to get acquainted with the company standard. We also reviewed the basics of photography, especially for tours and events. We are enthusiastic that everything will be applied when we launch our tours and events in Drive Manila.

This training was aligned with Drive’s vision to promote the company as more than just a mere car rental service. Drive sells the tour experience to joiners through their upcoming tours. They will also enrich their partners and officers with industry knowledge through standard training, which will also be shared on social media and blogs in the future.

Make sure to download the Drive app on iOS or Google Play to experience car rental like no other. Also, follow Drive Manila on Facebook on keep updated on future events and promos.

Have a fruitful 2020 ahead!

Future of Work

Yesterday was a productive one. I had a conference on Developing a Future-Ready Filipino Workforce for Competitiveness and Shared Prosperity organized by the Asian Institute of Management and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.

My key takeaways are: more than producing new jobs, employers must improve tasks in order prepare their workforce for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Tasks which involve empathy, compassion, and human touch such as massage can still be handled by people. Other tasks such as training and manufacturing may be handled by machines and computers, but people are still the ones who think behind the process and operate them. People must continue to work together to build a more human-centric workplace in an age of automation and cloud systems.

Before going home, I received kisses from this fluffy doggo at Vertis North. I don’t know him and his humans, but I think he likes me!

As I rejoin the workforce in the coming months, I look forward to lending my opinions, expertise, skills in communication, and thirst for knowledge in order to continue to be relevant in the digital age- and to still be likable to both people and dogs!

Opportunities Ahead

Yesterday was a busy one. I worked out, then I dressed for success as I had meetings throughout the day.

For merienda, I had this coffee chip bun and coffee combo at Country Style. It was a delicious pairing, I must say!

The coffee bun was as big as my face!

My meetings went well, so I went to church for thanksgiving mass.

And I had creamy curry beef rice and bulgogi soup at Bon Chon.

Also, I enjoyed crocheting this cowl in between my meetings. It is still a work in progress, just like me.

I am eager to welcome opportunities into my life, one day at a time. For now, I am crocheting, enjoying life, and staying positive that the odds will be in my favor.
