Knitting Strong

I stayed at the hospital with my terminally-ill father and knitted this cowl for my uncle, who’s celebrating his birthday in Europe next month.

I used The Attic Yarn and Craftery’s choco fusion yarn to complete this project.

I also got to attend Easter Sunday mass at the Pink Sisters Convent with my helper, Racquel.

We had brekkie at Mushroomburger, where I was pleasantly surprised by their delicious food, coffee, and buko panda macapuno sundae.

I met up with my paternal relatives for lunch to celebrate my uncle’s birthday in advance. I also gave my advance birthday gift to my goddaughter, Kate. I got her a curvy Barbie doll, to teach her about body inclusivity at an early age.

I also made her fit the beanie I was knitting for her for size.

I drove home and it was a beautiful summer day! Here’s to more sunny days where I knit myself strong.

Saturday with Kate and Cousins

Yesterday, I spent time with my goddaughter Kate, and my cousins Bianca and Choi. We had a relaxing lunch to celebrate our uncle’s sacerdotal anniversary, and for dessert, we had cookies at Scout’s Honor.

I even got to swing by the Art Exchange, The Craft Central’s annual bazaar featuring some of the best local handmade merchants. It was fun to meet the ladies behind The Attic Yarn and Craftery, which is where I get most of my yarn for knitting and crocheting. Also, I got a pair of decoupage airplane earrings from Marita De Lemonade.

I had a lovely Saturday and it was fun to catch-up with family. I hope that I could spend more time with them in the future, and that I will continue to see Kate grow.

Kate, Pasta, and Gelato

I recently got to have lunch with my Lucas relatives. The highlight of my day was that I got to spend time with my goddaughter, Kate!

At two years old, she’s already a seasoned selfie pro.

She diligently wears the watch I gave to her last Christmas. She also accepts edible gifts, like cookies.

I ate this delicious bowl of aglio olio pasta as Kate watched cartoons on her iPad. Amici is always ideal for family gatherings.

We took more selfies between our mains and desserts.

I got my usual mint chocolate gelato and coffee for dessert.

Kate seemed fascinated with my handcrafted bangles! She tried removing them, but they’re practically attached to my wrist. Heck, I cannot even remove or tighten them without the assistance of a strong guy.

I had fun with Kate, and it will be her third birthday soon. Time flies indeed, and I look forward to taking more selfies with her as the years go by.
