Wilmur

I recently ordered these Wilmur specs in Smoky Tort from local optical powerhouse Sunnies Studios. I bought this pair from their online store due to the pandemic. I still have the same eye prescription (only 25 on my left eye as a result of astigmatism. My eyesight remains 20/20!), so ordering online was the best option. It was also a breeze as their website is well-designed and easy to use.

I may be a customer of various local optical shops, but Sunnies Studios remains to be my favorite. Their frames are the most stylish in my opinion, and they give great value for money. Their stores are also chic places to be in. Plus, their employees and directors have been very good to me through the years.

I highly recommend Sunnies Studios as their loyal customer, and not as a paid influencer. This is not a sponsored post! I simply love the brand, and I am delighted to own the Wilmur specs. I hope that you will find the perfect pair for you from their amazing selection!

Quielle Knot Ring

My partner recently gave me a Quielle Knot Ring when he visited our home for the first time. He met my mom and gave her some pastries. It was a good day and I will forever cherish this ring to remind me of our relationship.

Guys, if you want to give a present to your special someone, observe what she usually buys and where she buys them from. I am a longtime Quielle customer so this gift makes me feel special. I highly recommend this item as it is locally-made using high quality stainless steel.

Have a good week ahead, everyone!

Mangkakahoy Table

We have been on quarantine for more than a year now, so I invested in a sturdy standing desk from Mangkakahoy. I got the medium because I crochet while working on my laptop. I have been previously typing on top of a pile of books and boxes so this is definitely an upgrade. The desk is well-made, and it feels sturdy. I can’t wait to use it everyday during the pandemic and beyond!

Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

Local Love

I enjoyed the third day of the Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) 2020 right in the comfort of my own home. I learned that managing resilience is the key to surviving and thriving in the new normal. Both the private and public sectors must collaborate to bring forth beneficial change to society as a whole.

Personally, I am doing my part by engaging in low-energy activities such as brewing my own local coffee using a coffee press, enjoying cookies baked by a marginalized community in Manila, and crocheting earsavers for frontliners under Earsavers for Lifesavers PH.

I may be uncertain with what the future may bring, that is why I choose to thrive with what I have in the present. Choosing to support local is important because it enables me to help my city and community thrive.

I hope that you will also find ways to support local brands while educating yourself using online resources at home.

Let us all stay safe!

Sunday Hugs

Yesterday, I spent time with the furry friends from the East! I went to Barkin’ Blends Sta. Lucia branch for some quality time with dogs.

I was warmly welcomed by Reese.

I also missed Robin, my favorite golden retriever.

Julia took a nap on my lap, and I felt very sleepy too.

Bucci kept me awake when Julia woke up. She is still a puppy, and likes running around and begging for belly rubs.

A hug from Martha before I left the cafe warmed my heart.

After playing with my furry friends, I had some chicken mami from Ma’s Chicken Mami House.

Then, I purchased some budget-friendly pocket notebooks for my bullet journal setup.

I was delighted with their paper bag, which features a woman with a pixie- and she kind of reminds me of myself!

I completed my Papemelroti purchase with new stainless steel earrings.

By giving myself the entire Sunday to play with dogs, eat comfort food, and buy little things that make me happy, I am experiencing joy which will fuel me for the rest of the week.

Here’s to more Sunday hugs in the future!
