SWS Survey Review 2019

Yesterday, I started my day with a P2P ride to Makati.

I bought puto from the vendor at the bus station, and it was very good!

I went to AIM for the 2019 SWS Survey Review and it was insightful.

Then, I proceeded to Barkin’ Blends Dog Cafe to play with my doggo buddies.

I ended my day with some kimchi rice at the weekend bazaar near my parking space.

I had a productive Friday which was a balance of learning, cuddling, and eating! Hopefully, I’ll receive more invitations to learning opportunities and seminars.

Memory Lane

Yesterday was a busy one. I had a series of interviews at Makati and Ortigas, and I started with the one at Makati.

I took the P2P to get there as the MRT was already full at 6:00 AM.

I had taho and crocheted for a bit to perk me up.

FullSizeRender.jpg

It was a beautiful day, and I got to walk around the city before my appointment.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I even got to visit my old office building, RCBC Plaza.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I had breakfast at the convenience store that I used to frequent.

FullSizeRender.jpg

It was nostalgic because I used to buy food and coffee here during my first job.

After my Makati interview, I went to Ortigas by train for two other interviews. But first, I dropped by my alma mater UA&P.

I had some documents photocopied at the library. For the second time that day, I was overcome with nostalgia.

I had lunch at the cafeteria before proceeding to my two other interviews.

I finished early, so I still had time to visit St. Clare Monastery to pray for a job and for more blessings for me and my family.

And for dinner, I had sizzling burger steak, which is my weakness at the food court.

FullSizeRender.jpg

Here’s hoping that I’ll find the right opportunity for me soon, and that I’ll be able to join the workforce again. For now, I am taking care of my family and not giving up!

Work and Play

Yesterday, I had a meeting at Ortigas. I took the P2P going there, and I knitted while I was stuck in traffic.

After my meeting, I had lunch at Sunnies Cafe. Half of the time was spent taking pictures around their interesting interiors.

I had pumpkin purée...

 ...and a flat white.

Then, I proceeded to Barkin’ Blends Dog Cafe for some furry cuddles.

I find time to knit wherever I go, eat at places that make me happy, and hug my furry canine friends. Life may be hard, but I have usual rituals that keep me going. Here’s to more yarn, coffee, and cuddles!

IDC 2018

Yesterday, I got to attend the International Design Conference of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The IDC 2018 entertaining and informative. I learned from the various panels of speakers from the creative industries, and now I am more inspired to keep on pursuing dangerous ideas in order to take risks, innovate, and disrupt my life.

I took two P2P buses to conveniently reach the venue, the Samsung Hall at SM Aura.

I wore Marikina-made shoes from Rob and Mara, which I purchased after trying them on for comfort. And yes, they are one of my most comfortable pairs to date!

I had pizza for breakfast!

And a non-fat latte to perk me up.

Then, it was time for the talks.

For lunch, I went to Aperitif. I had the prosciutto pasta, which was mixed in a cheese wheel. For dessert, I had the ooey gooey chewy chocolate chip cookie, which truly lived up to its name.

After getting my share of creative inspiration, I proceeded to The Pen to view the Salcedo Auctions’ preview of Important Philippine Art.

It was moving to view the boceto for the Spoliarium, which is Juan Luna’s most prolific work.

I am determined to keep on being creative, thanks to the IDC 2018, my sumptuous French lunch and snack, and remarkable Philippine art. I am really lucky to have these opportunities, and I look forward to similar experiences in the future.

Thursday Learning

Yesterday, I managed to keep my cool amidst the traffic from Quezon City to Makati. I opted to ride the P2P so that I could relax and nap on the road.

Before I knew it, I was already in Makati for the Birla Breakfast Forum.

I enjoyed learning from the family behind Palawan Pawnshop. It was interesting to know that the five children currently run the business, and they still prefer to spend their free time together.

The Asian Institute of Management never fails to fascinate me as there is always a fabulous learning experience every time I’m there.

For lunch, I opted to have Indian food at Glorietta.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I ordered this delicious chicken tikka masala.

I had a lovely day at a conference and of course, a yummy Indian meal. I am thankful that I get invited to events that enable me to interact with business leaders and listen to insightful talks. I look forward to more conferences and seminars to spark my creativity!

Thriving Locally

I had a fantastic weekend!

I started my Saturday and Sunday mornings with Zumba. I must say that I am glad to see progress on my abs.

I also took brisk walks around my local park and took breaks on interesting nooks such as this grotto.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I enjoyed freshly-baked bread from my neighborhood bakery.

FullSizeRender.jpg

And yesterday, I rode a P2P to visit Common Room Alabang.

FullSizeRender.jpg
FullSizeRender.jpg

I donated some old paper bags on-site to support their ‘no new paper bags’ campaign, which I think is really cool.

But the main reason why I went there was to buy a handmade Tubbs the Cat doll from Pop Junk Love. They had selected dolls at 50% off for the benefit of Cribs Foundation. It was a win-win because I have always wanted to purchase a doll from them, and I love supporting charities!

I also browsed through the store and found old handmade favorites such as Knitting Expedition.

In the end, I refused to have Tubbs packed in a paper bag. He went home with me inside my spacious Knitting Expedition Tiyargo bag.

Every visit to Common Room motivates me to continue supporting local and handmade! My heart is full now that I have a new stuffed toy, and it’s all for a good cause. Fitness and my handmade lifestyle are not just weekend norms, as I do practice them everyday. They only seem to get magnified on weekends because I have more time to explore places that define them.

I look forward to more weekend adventures and handmade stories!
