Work and Play

Yesterday, I had a meeting at Ortigas. I took the P2P going there, and I knitted while I was stuck in traffic.

After my meeting, I had lunch at Sunnies Cafe. Half of the time was spent taking pictures around their interesting interiors.

I had pumpkin purée...

Then, I proceeded to Barkin’ Blends Dog Cafe for some furry cuddles.

I find time to knit wherever I go, eat at places that make me happy, and hug my furry canine friends. Life may be hard, but I have usual rituals that keep me going. Here’s to more yarn, coffee, and cuddles!

Thankfully Caffeinated

I have been helping my family recently with errands at home as one of our members has fallen ill with a debilitating condition. It has been stressful, but manageable. One of the ways that I unwind (pun intended) is by knitting at coffee shops. I find a bright, cozy nook and stitch away.

I prefer my coffee strong, and my background music to be upbeat! I also listen to podcasts when Top 40 music tends to be cloying.

Knitting has helped me mend my broken heart and stay alert at conferences. I look forward to seeing how my knitting journey will help me power through this challenge that my family is currently facing.

Posing Patiently

It has become my tradition to pose for selfies first thing on Monday mornings. It sets the tone for my busy week ahead. It helps motivate me not just to slay, but to also stay poised throughout every challenge that I encounter on a day-to-day basis.

I am not afraid to be judged for my self-timer pictures. I don't mind the stares whenever I take these photos. I simply focus on posing and hope that the shots will turn out fine.

I am quirky that way. and it is in posing patiently through each take that I get photos that can set the tone for the rest of my week. I am still a newbie at work, but I am learning fast. By posing patiently on the job, I am slowly enjoying the fruits of my labor. I am building rapport among my colleagues. And I find myself looking forward to another day at work.

Here's to more patience, more selfies, and more slaying- both at work and play!

Burning and Praying

Yesterday, I started my day with Zumba...

I had to swing by the Pink Sisters Convent to give thanks and pray for my intercessions for the month of July.

Later during the day, I had lunch at Happon Ramen House.

I sketched my lunch and enjoyed my meal.

I also explored the building. Since I have a thing for doors, I found this bar charming.

Then, I proceeded to my usual waxing salon. I never appreciated its coziness until now.

I was also wearing a scarf I crocheted, so I felt confident.

I ended my day out with a visit to St. Clare.

I enjoyed my day out and took notice of the details which I previously took for granted. Indeed, when I appreciate the fine print in life, everything will be in screaming color. I look forward to a myriad of hues as I explore possibilities in the coming days!

Friday at Home

Yesterday, I spent the whole day at home. I still woke up at 5am, and immediately got down to knitting. It effectively got me awake.

Then, I finished crocheting this infinity scarf.

I also reflected on the day’s Didicahe Youth entry.

I got some work done, and had coffee at our pocket garden.

I took some of my watercolors out to play.

And I painted some of my mom’s plants.

My mom happened to cook lunch, and I sketched my meal as well.

After finishing my work tasks, I returned to my knitting and finished my beanie.

I had a productive Friday at home. Just because I spent the day inside my comfort zone doesn’t mean that I slept all day. I accomplished all my tasks, and even had time for leisure. I look forward to waking up early again in the coming days and managing my time effectively along the way.

Early Start

FullSizeRender.jpg

Lately, I’ve been having trouble sleeping and waking up early. I’m normally a morning person, but the past few months have been challenging work-wise, as well as on the personal level. I have switched-up my workout schedule to the evening, and it has messed-up with my body clock. I have been waking up at 10am during the past few weeks, and it has been frustrating. I have been wanting for my schedule to go back to normal.

I’ve tried lavender oil, soothing music, reading... but nothing has worked.

Until I woke up bright and early this morning!

It was totally unexpected, as I even worked out last night. I also woke up to a rainy morning, but I was ready to exercise and burn some calories. I was not in the mood to go back to sleep. I was awake enough to slay.

Working out early in the morning, eating breakfast with an afterburn, and downing a couple of cups of arabica was refreshing. I finally feel like myself after weeks of waking up before noon and adjusting my day to the unusual routine. I am unsure of what triggered this return to normalcy, but I guess it was because I finally wanted it badly.  I hope that I will wake up again early tomorrow so that I can do some cardio and banish all the bad vibes away.
