NAIA Work Day 1

Yesterday, I had my first day as a NAIA Buyer Services Representative for the IFEX 2019 (food expo). My first time to be a NAIA rep was last April for Manila FAME. I am thankful to CITEM for the opportunity to serve our country once again and to return to work in such a unique way.

I got my pass to assist buyers from overseas. During my downtime, I got to crochet, eat, and get to know my shift partner, Alyssa. I also got to chat with airport staff Jang who kindly helped me with my job for the next four days.

I enjoyed my day at work and with our helper in the movies. It was another productive day. I know that with days that are balanced such as this one, I can manage to live a good life amidst all the challenges that I recently faced.

Movie Afternoon

Yesterday, I watched a movie at the UP Cine Adarna’s Videotheque.

It was a sunny day, and I felt inspired to take some photos.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I also had Rodic’s tapsilog for late lunch.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I did a bit of walking around the oval.

IMG_5540.JPG

Then, I dropped by St. Clare to pray for my dad and my other intercessions.

IMG_5541.JPG

I bought my favorite breakfast smoothie from Go! Salads for dinner.

I ended my day with Ulan, directed by Irene Emma Villamor at Cinema Centenario. I love this microcinema because it feels like home- I even have a favorite seat (G5). I find myself here whenever I want to unwind and think things through.

Films help me see things in a different perspective. Spending my free time at green spaces like UP Diliman is inspiring, and I feel energized with local film and trees.

Here’s to more simple joys with a dash of prayer and tapsilog!

Brunch and Beats

Yesterday, I had Rodic’s tapsilog to jumpstart my day.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I ran some errands while listening to music.

FullSizeRender.jpg
FullSizeRender.jpg

I also got to buy the Sunnies I’ve been eyeing and I am really glad to have a new pair to rock!

I can’t wait to slay in the days to come. For now, I have brunch to look forward to, commitments to fulfill, and this blog to update. I am truly lucky to have opportunities lined up in 2019!

The Active Foodie

Yesterday was all about simple joys such as food, fitness, and crafts.

I had Potdog crab egg with garlic rice and sweet garlic sauce for lunch. Definitely worth the calories as this is one of my favorite supermarket fast food finds!

FullSizeRender.jpg

After lunch, I walked to the newly-built SM North Towers to visit the newest Starbucks Reserve cafe.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I was stunned! It honestly didn’t look like I was still in Quezon City.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I had my coffee while knitting, and I was able to unwind.

FullSizeRender.jpg

Then, I was able to buy these handmade polymer clay earrings from local brand The Baby Blue Bunny at The Craft Central.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I ended my day with a sunset walk at UP and a simple dinner of cheese corn and Rodic’s tapsilog.

Who says that I’m too complicated? I like food, coffee, crafting, buying handmade, and while it’s not pictured today, going to church. I burn everything I eat through fitness. And I keep the world updated through my blog.

Here’s to balancing my life with each spoonful and step that I take!

Paws to Pray

Yesterday, I went to UP to run some errands. I squeezed in some brisk walking at the oval to burn some calories.

IMG_2526.JPG

Then, I had a lovely burger steak canteen lunch.

IMG_2532.JPG

I proceeded to St. Clare to pray for my special intentions and to say thank you for recent blessings.

IMG_2533.JPG

To celebrate Halloween early, I swung by Barkin Blends Dog Cafe to cuddle some doggos.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I had Ella the whole afternoon, and she later napped on my lap.

I was also lucky since I got to take pictures with the other dogs as well.

After a pawsome time, I ate tapsilog for dinner at Rodic’s.

FullSizeRender.jpg

Then, I ended my day with a sunset walk.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I am still hoping that things will improve. I continue to be optimistic, and in case things get too much to handle, I know that I can always pray and hangout with my furry friends.

Simple Hump Day

Yesterday, I started my day with my usual workout at the park.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I had breakfast and coffee afterwards.

FullSizeRender.jpg

Then, I went to the mall for some retail therapy.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I bought lipsticks from Sunnies Face for me and my mom.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I queued up for it.

FullSizeRender.jpg

By the time it was my turn, I already knew shades I would purchase. While waiting for my payment to settle, I appreciated the store’s interiors. I especially liked the pink floor.

FullSizeRender.jpg

Actually, almost the entire store was pink and cream!

I later watched Crazy Rich Asians. I enjoyed it so

much!

IMG_0080.JPG

I always get giddy whenever I see anything The Little Mermaid. In this case, I saw this children’s book at a secondhand bookstore. I remember having a similar one when I was a kid.

IMG_0081.JPG

I dropped by Sta. Clara since I was already in the area. I prayed for a better future and I gave thanks for all the blessings I have been receiving so far.

FullSizeRender.jpg

Before I knew it, it was time to claim my Sunnies Specs.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I chose this cool cateye pair called Harlow.

FullSizeRender.jpg

I wrapped up my day with Rodic’s tapsilog...

...and delicious Turkish ice cream!

I enjoyed my hump day and I look forward to more relaxing days that make all the hard work worth it.

Knit, Nom, Now

I am a firm believer in rising above challenges through action. Lately, I have been dealing with some personal matters which I have already resolved. To celebrate these small wins, I went to Human Nature to transact orders and to have a cup of coffee.

I am a Human Nature dealer, so if you would like to buy affordable yet high quality natural products, you may order from my online shop!

FullSizeRender.jpg

I used my Knitting Expedition tiyargo bag  to carry all my purchases. I also took another photo because it amuses me how much the social enterprise brands I support complement each other with ease and style.  The coffee beside me in the photo is from Cafe Lugud, my Ifugao bangles are from Natalya Lagdameo, my T’boli bangles are from Nawa, and the location was of course the Human Nature flagship store! All of these brands are social enterprises, so they do not just look good- they also commit to doing good as well

After shopping, I went to the new Rodic’s branch along Maginhawa with air conditioning! I had tapsilog while knitting.

FullSizeRender.jpg
FullSizeRender.jpg

After wrapping up all my errands, I bought my dad his favorite yema cake.

FullSizeRender.jpg

And later that night, I finally finished knitting my first beanie. I knitted it using the magic loop technique. It was also my first time to knit in the round! This is definitely proof that I am willing to learn- and from YouTube, at that!

I am overjoyed with my small wins, and I also feel accomplished to have knitted a beanie! I am truly determined to overcome each challenge with positivity, optimism, and action. Here’s to more small wins and lessons learned along the way!

Knitting x Tapsilog x Ice Cream

Yesterday was another fun day of knitting, shopping, and eating! I began with tapsilog brunch at Rodic’s.

FullSizeRender.jpg

After my hearty meal, I dropped by Hey Kessy to buy yarns.

IMG_5288.JPG

I then proceeded to Manila Creamery for dessert. I chose the carrot cake gelato.

IMG_5290.JPG

It was delicious!

IMG_5291.JPG
IMG_5292.JPG

I had coffee and continued knitting...

IMG_5293.JPG

...then I picked up one of my new yarns to crochet...

I enjoyed being creative while eating and buying new yarns. I hope to have more food trips to inspire me to make more, whether it is through knitting, crocheting, or even art journaling!
