Jan 1 Joys

I am grateful to have the privilege of beginning the year on a high note. I celebrated the new year with mass at the Pink Sisters Convent in New Manila, where I got to pray for my intentions and of course, give thanks for all the blessings that I have received.

Then, I had dinner with my family at Cibo. I started my meal with a cold one and some minestrone soup.

I also ordered my Cibo favorite, the Farfalle alla Genovese. Everything was delicious, comforting, and celebratory!

Cheers to a bountiful year ahead!

Loving QC

The other night, I decided to have mushroom bibimbap from O! Kitchen for dinner. It was delicious!

I burned it yesterday with Zumba.

I recovered with breakfast burger steak and coffee.

I pedaled on the stationary bike at the park.

And I took a brisk walk around the gardens.

I crossed Elliptical Road and found myself at the QC Public Library.

I enjoyed reading and working on yesterday’s blog entry via the high-speed WiFi connection.

For lunch, I had the 100 tomato pasta...

...and the guiltless strawberry cake from Icing’s.

I had a check-up at the hospital and I loved their groovy staircase.

Later during the day, I dropped by the newly-opened Human Nature store at SM The Block.

I got myself a couple of pairs of cute scissors from Books for Less.

And I got a meaningful mirror from The Craft Central to remind me of that being happy is a choice.

I ended my day with anticipated mass and this mango and chocolate crepe.

I love Quezon City and I am proud of my hometown! I hope that you will also find yourself in any of the places I’ve been to, because they’re worth visiting. I am happy that there are so many affordable ways to enjoy myself in QC. I will surely miss being here everyday as I will work soon in Ortigas. But that doesn’t mean that my life will stop, just like that. I would just have to blog on the side, and maximize my weekends in order to speakoutsam!

Learn, Knit, Nom

Yesterday, I finally finished the scarf I was knitting for my best friend.

FullSizeRender.jpg

It was my first time to make a man scarf so I hope this works well during an overseas trip or two.

I started another scarf, this time for one of my closest girl friends. I am using the popular Shawl in a Ball yarn.

I was giddy because I was also wearing my new leather mules which I purchased from local brand Tutum. They looked fab with the floor at Pablo.

I continued knitting at Pablo. Their mini chocolate cheese tart was delicious with their coffee.

Their coffee maker was also adorable!

After finishing my coffee, I proceeded to the Asian Institute of Management to attend the lecture on Technology and Big Data lecture I was invited to.

More knitting ensued as I waited for it to begin.

It was an insightful lecture and I was happy to attend it!

I was craving for pasta after class so I went to Cibo for my favorite Farfalle Alla Genovese.

I also had a chill P2P ride home where was able to knit and nap.

I had a lovely Friday and I couldn’t ask for more! I look forward to more opportunities to learn, try new food, and knit in colorful spaces.

Knitting x Aglio Olio

Yesterday, I attended the birthday lunch of one of my uncles. He celebrated it at Amici. I brought along my knitting with me and played with my needles as I enjoyed my aglio olio pasta.

For dessert, I had their coffee mudslide gelato and americano. It was a winning combination!

It was fun to knit while catching-up with family. Knitting while chatting was a chill activity. I look forward to bringing my knitting with me to more social events!

Beer and Knitting

I recently took up freestyle knitting, and yesterday, I brought my yarn and needles to Cibo. I ordered beer and truffle pasta. While waiting for my lunch, I knitted mindlessly, as I mindfully processed my thoughts.

I was lost in my thoughts when my pasta was brought to my table. Knitting has become my therapy because I get to think, reflect, and relax. It is also a convenient craft to take with me wherever I need to be.

My truffle pasta and beer lunch was superb!

After lunch, I went to The Craft Central to purchase a couple more yarns and a pack of stitch markers.

They also had this crafting nook that they use for workshops. Since the shop did not have anything planned for that day, I knitted on their table while listening to their Ed Sheeran playlist.

That was a quietly fun day. I look forward to knitting in more places.

Gnocchi Hearts Day!

 Buon San Valentino!

Yesterday, I turned thirty-one and a half years old. I celebrated Valentine’s in advance as well since February 14 is Ash Wednesday.

I had lunch with my family at Bellini’s Cubao X. Imagine my surprise and glee when I saw that their menu contains gnocchi !

FullSizeRender.jpg

I simply had to have their spinach gnocchi. I mean, it’s Valentine’s!

FullSizeRender.jpg

We started with this pizza. It was delicious.

FullSizeRender.jpg

Finally, I had my gnocchi and beer. You have no idea how long I’ve been looking for delicious gnocchi in Manila.

FullSizeRender.jpg

It was yummy!

FullSizeRender.jpg

For dessert, I had a slice of their delectable orange cake. It was the perfect ending to a lovely meal.

FullSizeRender.jpg

Also had their house dessert wine.

And since this was the setting of one of my favorite movies, One More Chance, I had to have some photos by the famous table.

Basha (Bea Alonzo’s character) has been my style icon for years!

John Lloyd and Bea forever.

I had a heavenly lunch at a memorable place! Thank you Bellini’s for bringing my gnocchi dreams to life!
